I do apologise for my absence the last couple of weeks and today, I will be back after the break, my recovery has taken longer than expected form the two operations i have had.

This is my final version of fanfic based on the anime ‘Hunter X hunter’.

Going home

When Lizzy woke up this morning, she was confused by the surroundings, which she was feel like in a completely different world: a clown with fancy, colorful dress and ridiculous costume, a corpulent short man taking two cans of  juice in his hands, and  the buzz of voices in the crowded room. Suddenly there is a booklet hit her head and she opened the first page of it:    [Note 1: the proof of the existence of overmatch in this world will be the ‘hunter' qualifying examination to obtain a certificate]

[Note 2: Hunter license is one of the most useful objects in this world].

"Excuse me..." suddenly she heard a boy's voice far away. The voice sounded childish and Lizzy assume that he was the same age as her at most. However, Lizzy walked to the source of the voice to check, but stopped as soon as she noticed someone’s presence - the fatty guy. To think that he has a cruel smile on his face and offer a can of laxative juice to a thirsty people like her. However, the target was the two boys over there.

“Hi, guys. You must feel tired after walking such long distance to come here, My name is Tongba and I have participated 35 times hunter exams, here are fruit juice for you to quench… "Tongba says to the two boys that one has silver hair and the other looks shorter.

With apologetic smile on the taller boy’s face, he says: "Uncle, before leaving our brother has already superimposed enough food for us, so, thanks for your kindness.” Tongpa aware that his tricks decisively found by the two boys so he left in a huff.

In a minute Lizzy realized that she just had a Chromo Cross, which brings her into the world of ‘Hunter X Hunter’. She was excited to see Kilura (the silver hair boy) and Gon( the main character).

“Hey, my name is Lizzy and I am glad to have this examination with you.”

“Nice to meet you, we are Gon and Kilura. Let’s try our best!” replied Gon.

After six hours of completing the marathon race (the first section of exam), most of the candidates are breathing heavily, thinking they finally got out of this excruciating trial. Lizzy sat up from the ground and still cannot believe she is a qualified member in this competition. She looked back at the door called ‘the end of fall, really feel for the fail players in their suffering.

 The examiner Ribe is in charge of the second section of the whole exam. “The rule is simple for you guys, each candidate has a record of the test which is a round card on your own, the number you need to gather is determined by drawing lots. The purpose is to capture the target number and the basic requirements of the trial is set to gathering at least six points, your own number card is worth three points and the enemy worth another three.” Ribe explained in good mood.

“That is to say, apart from the target you are also allowed to get six points from others. The destination is Fire Island for a limited period of just one week.” Ribe announced.

"Although I have no idea about your target, Lizzy, you don’t need to be so worried…”. After exchanging the note with their target number, Lizzy, Kilura and Gon luckily found that they are obviously not opponents in this context. However, next minute Lizzy was entirely shocked by the truth,   "Because your target never even hides his own card ...” Lizzy followed the direction in which his finger pointed and she found the No.44 card in the chest of the crazy clown cecil, which is one of the most powerful players in the examination.

Three days have passed;

 Lizzy is still following cecil in order to catch his card… She was extremely fatigues, but in support of a spirtual power, her efforts to maintain a cool mind and curled up hiding in relying on the inside of the rock crevice. In this circumstance, she did not dare to let her own sense of the trace of the slack.Enduring the harassment of the mosquito, Liz was suffocated with fear and could not breathe, soon what happened prove her caution was definitely an useful effort. She heard the scrape of footsteps  from the chimney and immediately judge the person who walk down is not ordinary, the kind of tentative steps are easy to be ignored and misunderstood aspast as the sound of small animals or leaves. Then Liz broke out in a cold sweat, held her breath, and was scared by the strong smell of blood fluttering in the air.

“It’s cecil!” she thought. “How can I catch his card without fighting with him?” Lizzy cried and never feels such helpless before. At this moment, she saw a fishing rod was fluttering and the card on cecil’s chest was missing! Cecil flings a flurry of knives at enemy around him and seriously injured Gon’s body.

“Gon!” Lizzy shouted. “Why do you help me secreatly?”

 Lizzy was running towards Gon and crying her eyes out while she saw Gon’s body.

“I have thought about Cecil’s weakness for several days and I keep practicing the skills to concentrate on tracking Cecil …I was waiting for the best timing to help you. Lizzy, we are originally from the same world. One year ago I also had a cross…this is a wonderful world fulfill of friendship and kindness. However, there is a voice keep reminding me to come back home, one year may equal to ten years in reality…I know you are the one to help me escape from here.” Gon murmured weakly.

“I will…no, we are all going back home through our own strength one day. Please wake up, Gon.” Lizzy cried.

This is my fanfic, mhm.

My fanfic is about how the world of Avatar would be if they had lost the war.

Darkness… Fear… Uncertainty… The only words that could possibly describe the world we live in. A constant scarlet stains the sky – the flames of the fire nation slowly but surely destroy everything in its wake. The “fire flood” was the Fire Lords’ idea; burn everything to the ground, ensuring that the people of the other nations have no hope. But we lost our hope a long time ago… The Avatar.

 Our last drop of hope was taken from us; violently and swift. Everyone would pass on rumours of the Avatar and his companions’ ploys to dethrone the Fire Lord and dismantle his empire. Villages would commune and pray for the Avatar, for the Avatar was their only chance at freedom from the Fire Nation.

When word of the Avatars death surfaced people lost hope, their tenacity and will to live seemed to wither. Farms went unharvested, ripe fruit left to spoil. Our village became a bleak place to live and finally when the flames of the fire flood were seen over the horizon everything turned into anarchy. The Avatar united us; with him gone we were lost, fleeing the inevitable. My parents used to tell me that things will turn out ok, even joke that we will own a farm and orchid – They sit in silence now, their faces as uncertain as the coming future.

Katara breathed deeply. “Was there anything that we could have done..?” she thought. “Anything that could have changed the way things unfolded” She shuddered as a tear emerged. She looked up as Zuko approached. “We have to keep moving” he sighed. “Is this what our lives are now? The constant running and hiding just to survive? Survive for what!” Zuko screamed as he spat a breath of fire at the ground.

“We can’t give up hope, not for our own sakes. But for everyone that has died fighting for freedom and peace” – Katara tried to appear confident, but as she looked around at the faces of her friends, she knew it was useless.

They had been running for 3 months now, Ever since the Avatar lost the battle with the Fire Lord they retreated into hiding, praying that the reincarnated Avatar would emerge and ignite the world’s beacon of hope. Everyday they would hear more ill news of the fates of other rebel forces. Everyday they would be forced to scavenge through rubble and burnt paddocks to find anything edible to sustain them for one more day, just to repeat the cycle.

Even if by some miracle the Avatar was reborn and they found it. It would be merely a child, the war had only ended 2 months ago and yet half the world was engulfed in flame. It seemed all pointless, an impossible task.

Katara ran the moment of the Avatar’s death through her mind like quicksilver, again and again. The pain of knowing her family and everyone she loved will soon be dead throbbed through her constantly. Katara jumped as a stale piece of bread thudded besides her.

“C’mon we have to keep moving” Zuko urged.

The troupe trudged through the treacherous terrain, Zuko leading the way Toph not far behind, her small frame resembled a cripple as she hunched, head drooping, taking each step as if it was against her will. Katara trailing at the back, falling into a spell of exhaustion… they had been walking for months with little rations, scarcely drinking the little water they had. They were running on empty, they all knew it.

 The canopy of red woods seemed to span forever, there was a sense of serenity in the forest - only clouded by the smell of burning, a constant reminder of the fire nation’s fire flood.  

Suddenly a muffled crack sounded, the trio froze… BOOM@! The peaceful canopy erupted into blaze of clashing, hooded men leaping from the trees brandishing swords and spears. Swoosh’s from arrows cutting through the air triggered Toph’s senses she raised an encircling wall around the three.

 Jeering and battle cries roared from the attackers, Zuko’s eyes darting in all directions – hands burning ready to strike at any moment. Toph threw down her walls sending the attackers flying back, Zuko and Katara then released their bending skills summoning fire and water waves to suppress the attackers.

Staggering back the attackers faltered momentarily - stunned by the display of fire and water, Zuko’s eyes darting around in an almost challenge waiting for the attackers to strike. Silence filled the canopy again as the attackers seemed frozen in fear.

“C’MON!” yelled Zuko.

A rough voice rang out from the shadows “Who are you?” “What are you doing here?”

“What?? Why did you attack us?” Replied Katara, a hint of fear in her voice.

“You are in our territory, we haven’t seen benders here for a long time. Especially fire benders… now answer me! Who are you?”

“Were just passing through, were refuges” replied Katara.

“Three benders?”

 “Friends of the fire lord? “

“Are your allegiances with the resistance?” asked the soldiers in barrage of questions.

“The resistance?  Questioned Toph.

“Were no friends of the Fire Lord spat Zuko.”

“Then you may be of assistance to us” a hooded figure emerged from the shadows.

The figure removed his hood- An aged face, rough from the brutality of war.

“My name is Daroff, we are a part of the resistance”  “In the world there are only two types of people, people who serve the Fire Lord, and people who oppose him”.

“Choose, now! Join us in our resistance against the Fire Nation. Or we can settle this fight now.”

“There is no need for bloodshed today,” retorted Zuko.

“We have more than one reason to oppose the Fire Lord”- Answered Katara.

“Journey with us, the forces of the Resistance are gathering.”  Voiced a soldier, we journey to bring down the Fire Nation”. 

“To bring an end to the Fire Lords Tyranny!” Jeered the members of the resistance.

The trio looked at each other and nodded in agreement.

Zuko with blood still in his eyes, spat a ball of fire in the air.

Katara smirked, hands trembling. Anxious at the thought of getting revenge on the Fire Lord.

‘The slayers’ is regarded as my favourite anime these years. It is totally a comedy mixed with adventures, friendship and love…This fanfic mainly talks about the chat between Zel and Amilia after the war of Taforashia is successful. While all their friends are celebrating the resurrection of the country, Amilia had confession that she fell in love with Zel. They had a long conversation and Zel admitted that he also want to protect Amila for her whole life…

    The reason that I really like this article is the pure love         between Zel and Amilia. They were just friends in the very beginning and after they went through sadness and pain together, Zel decided to save her from every dangerous circumstance…

Avatar The Last Air Bender

This Fanfic is about "Mai" who after loosing her lover - "Fire lord Zuko" is confronted by "Katara" - Firelord Zuko's Wife. The two talk about their deep emotions and hidden feelings about the events that followed the ending of the war.

This piece is written in 3rd person. The author uses very descriptive adjectives and verbs which successfully conveys the characters emotions to the audience. The Last Air Bender is a Cartoon intended for children and younger teenagers. Using sentences such as "That's why the few times we actually had sex, he called your name instead of mine" I felt the author took away the innocence of the story.

"Red and Blue" (fanfic about Katara and Zuko)

This fanfic is about Katara and Zuko two characters from "different beginnings", who keep crossing paths and slowly develop a relationship that evolves into love. The characters soon find out each others past and that their love can never be fully realised as they are from two extremes of the scale.

The story is in 3rd person, the author does a good job of describing each scene which allows the reader to enjoy the story and follow each scene. The entire story is saturated in cheesy love story extracts and in my opinion is one big cliche. The author is obviously a love deprived teenager desperately looking for her romeo.

Ty Lees Adventures
This fanfic is about the character TyLee and her sisters, recently orphaned they have joined the circus.

This story is in third person. Although the author is fairly descriptive I felt the whole piece felt very childish, the story had no real substance. But I understand that fanfics are supposed to be short in length and it is hard to weave intricate plots into the story.
The author has apparently never learnt about commas, I thought short sentences were used to build tension so I was expecting a dramatic turn of events... I was sadly disappointed. Throughout the story there is no climax or even lead up to a climax, the story is almost too good to be true. The characters begin by denying the princess of the fire nation and then go on to cure the blind. d(-_-)b ...

Ryuu the lost Fire Bender Chapter 1

This Fanfic is about a young girl  Ryuu on the island of "Zangku" where bending is forbidden. Ryuu is fascinated about fire and curiosity gets the better of her.

The piece written in first person is extremely descriptive as well as realistic, this lures the reader in as the scenes are easily visualized. After reading many bland and plot less fanfics I enjoyed reading this piece as I felt it not only had a plot, the author had a decent vocabulary which helped with picturing the story. The author took time to establish the basis of the story which also helps the reader enjoy the story as they understand the background to the story.

Being only the first chapter I felt this was an excellent start to the story and I feel intrigued to search for the next chapters.



"Playing Games"

This fanfic is about the characters of avatar having a jovial game of hide and seek.

This author begins with tension -"
My heart pounded against my rib cage violently as I tried to quiet my breathing. The creaking in the hall way was only getting louder, but hope fully it would pass. Keep going. I mentally pleaded with my pursuer, peaking through the slats in the closet in which I was hiding. Just keep- "  the excellent adjectives and short sentences added to the tension and gave a feeling of being in danger. Then the author reveals that the protagonist is playing a game of hide and seek, The author does a fantastic job of switching moods.
The author uses a lot of euphemisms and metaphors from the original story which gives a sense of being a real story from the original Avatar.

Ok, guys. Here are the fanfics that I have read based on my favourite animes.

The story happened after the Chimera Ant war between hunters and one of the most horrible monsters in Hunter X Hunter. Gon,  the main character was hurt badly and lost his memories after the war. Killura and Kulapika , who are Gon’s best friend are looking forward to help him so they begin a long journey. Unfortunately, they have met their enemy Kuroro, the head of a notorious group of robbers and they have a terrible fight…

The author’s idea is really interesting and her description of the war and friendship are really worth to see. Most importantly, the story is a melodramatic serial in which each episode ends in suspense…

This is not a story, but more like some impressions about Robin, one of the main characters in One piece. In the original anime, Robin was only understood as a brave and powerful female who used to has sad history of her own. She was called ‘the demon of Ohara’ and was accused of destroying the world. However, Luffy and her friends saved her and they started the trip of being pirates…

The reason that I choose this article is that I rarely see stories about Robin. She looks Charming and really powerful for most of ‘One piece’ fans, however, the author developes mental activities of her and help fans to realize more…

This fan fic is set it a reflective/narrative sense and was a interesting read. Not the best one i have read from this author but considering it was his/her first and English is not the native tongue i was impressed all the same.

It starts out with Asterix in his hut being quite sick. Now
as someone who has never read fan fiction before this was really quite
interesting to me considering it have read all the Comics and never is Asterix
sick once. So to start of the script like this gives it quite a powerful beginning.
I also think that the author gets the interaction right between the three of the
characters.

This wee little fan fiction Is about Asterix and Getafix (village
druid) almost having a heart to heart of soughts out in the forest near to their
village. I think this one has been especially well done due to the constant
references to previous episodes in the episode and I feel that the writer manages
to convey a decent event in a small amount of time. It is quite evident that in
this fan-fic they have read the books and I truly fans of the comic series I particularly
like the reference that they do about the character Obelix which is quite
amusing.

This is a very good piece where a 'well known' fear that all the Gauls have in terms of the Sky falling on there heads and leads for a very interesting read for any Asterix lover such as myself.

I am starting to really enjoy this authors fan fic. Its quite a cleaver plot and the more i read of his/her stuff the more i enjoy it.

Quite impressive innovation with the made up character also.
